This beautiful Northern Flicker had visited us on Sunday morning, and I couldn't get a picture of him, but fortunately, he returned today and with the snow on the ground, the background was light enough for me to catch this photo out of our schoolroom window. He is an amazingly spectacular bird and quite large. We're so blessed to have seen him.
